CAGE THE ELEPHANT

Update from Em

Venue: PNC Music Pavilion, Charlotte, NC

Cage the Elephant stormed the stage at Charlotte’s PNC Music Pavilion and delivered a powerhouse performance that left the crowd buzzing. Known for their explosive live shows, the band once again proved why they’re one of the most captivating acts in rock today. Despite frontman Matt Shultz performing with a broken foot, his energy and commitment were unwavering, setting the tone for an unforgettable night.

Opening with the electrifying Broken Boy, the band immediately captured the audience's attention, especially with the intense pyrotechnics. Shultz, while more stationary than usual, was still the focal point of the performance, channeling his usual frenetic charisma into intense vocal deliveries and captivating stage presence. Whether leaning into the mic stand or riding around the stage on a scooter he remained a magnetic force.

Fan favorites like Cigarette Daydreams, Trouble, and Ain't No Rest for the Wicked had the crowd singing along at the top of their lungs. The band's signature blend of gritty rock and psychedelic tones was on full display, with guitarist Brad Shultz and the rest of the group locking in tight grooves that kept the energy high throughout the night.

The song Telescope was a standout moment, where the band stripped back their intensity for a more intimate and emotional performance. The crowd swayed along, lighting up the venue with cell phone lights, creating a truly memorable atmosphere. Even with the more subdued tone, the band never lost their edge.

As the show came to a close with a blistering rendition of Come a Little Closer, Cage the Elephant reminded everyone why their live shows are a must-see. The combination of raw power, tight musicianship, and emotional resonance made for a night that no one in Charlotte would soon forget.

The Verdict: Cage the Elephant once again delivered an exhilarating live show, packed with energy, grit, and a connection with the crowd that made for an unforgettable night despite an immobilizing injury.

We are currently getting all the pics ready for the Printed/Digi-Mag right now. But for now, check out some highlight shots from that night here ↓
